STI Testing and Treatment
 Care Net Pregnancy Center offers free testing and treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infections for women. We do not offer general medical or emergency services. If you have severe pain in your belly, abnormal bleeding, a fever or any life threatening emergency please go to your nearest emergency room.
A pelvic exam and blood work will be done to test for the presence of STIs and HIV. The medical exam and testing are free of charge. Most treatments will be provided on-site, free of charge. Prescriptions or referrals will be made for the treatment of some infections.
:: Free STI testing/free STD testing is provided for the following infections:
- HIV
- Syphilis
- Chlamydia
- Gonorrhea
- Trichomonas
- Bacterial Vaginosis
- Yeast
Further testing may need to be done to test for HPV (genital warts) or Herpes if indicated. Some of these tests may not be covered under our free services. Laboratory fees for these tests would be your responsibility at the time of testing. These fees are very low as we have a discount with the laboratory with whom we contract.
If you have had sex, you are at risk for an STI/STD or HIV. Adolescent girls, those who have had multiple sexual partners or those who have had sex with someone who has had multiple sexual partners are especially at risk.
Sexually Transmitted Infections can be passed through oral, vaginal and anal sex. STIs can also be passed by skin-to-skin contact or by contact with infected bodily fluids. HIV can be transmitted through sex, sharing needles or any blood-to-blood contact.
Not all STIs have symptoms. You or your partner may be infected and not have symptoms. It is important to get tested and treated as early as possible to prevent further damage to your reproductive tract. Bacterial infections can be treated with antibiotics. Some viral infections have no cure.
