Sabrina's Story

I was five months along in my pregnancy and didn’t have much support. I heard about Care Net’s residential program, The Elizabeth House, and thought that they might be able to help me. As I had hoped, they were the answer to my prayers.

I learned so much during my 9-month stay at The Elizabeth House. The staff taught me the important parenting and life skills that I needed. I even started going back to school and was able to get a better job! For the first time, my life was definitely heading in the right direction.

On January 25th, 2008, four months into my stay at TEH, I gave birth to Mia. She weighed 6 lbs., 6 oz. and was the most beautiful little girl I had ever seen. A few months after she was born, she and I moved into our own apartment. Because of the vital skills I learned at The Elizabeth House, I was able to successfully transition into single-parenthood.

Now, I am almost finished with my college education, Mia is doing great and I am excited for what is ahead. Thank you for helping me succeed!
