Care Net's "Faithfulness Through All Generations" 2009 Fundraising Banquet

"I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations."
Psalm 89:1

On Thursday, November 5, approximately 500 people, from over 60 churches, gathered together to celebrate God’s Faithfulness Through All Generations through the ministries of Care Net Pregnancy Center. Through the banquet, God provided over $76,000 to bring help, hope and healing to women, men and families facing unplanned pregnancies or sexual health concerns.

Kristen* and Jamie* and their sons are among those whose lives have been eternally impacted by the help, hope and healing they received at Care Net. Many who attended the banquet will remember Jamie’s infant son attempting to crawl off the stage as his mother gave her thanks to those who support Care Net. For others, the beating heart on the live ultrasound made an indelible mark in their minds. And some still hear Kristen’s words resonating within: “If Care Net didn’t exist, I wouldn’t be experiencing the joy my son gives me…Thank you! Thank you for the gifts that made my free ultrasound and counseling possible.” (*Ficticious name to protect privacy)

Following stories from these Care Net clients, our guest speakers, Candy Gibbs and Candy’s father, Jerry Little, shared their family’s story of facing an unplanned teen pregnancy and God’s faithfulness, love and redemption in their own lives. Candy exhorted banquet guests to keep in mind that the problems of casual teen sex, unplanned pregnancies and abortion are not just someone else’s problem. These matters, Candy said, impact every segment of our society – every socioeconomic class, every race and people in and out of the church.

Through testimonies, ministry updates, a live ultrasound and the guest speakers, this inspirational and encouraging evening testified to God’s faithfulness through all generations in Care Net’s ministries.
