Care Net's Fundraising Banquet

Care Net’s Annual Fundraising banquet hosted nearly 500 people and raised $129,000 Thursday November 3, 2011. It was held at the Monona Terrace Convention Center and featured Star Parker founder and president of CURE, the Center for Urban Renewal & Education.

Parker shared her experiences of being in the welfare system and having four abortions and how the love of Christ changed her life so that she is now doing all she can to end abortion. One of her memorable comments she shared at the banquet included a comment made to Joy Baher on the “View” who questioned Parker for having four abortions – "If it's not wrong to have one abortion, why is it wrong to have 20?” (Coming soon video clips of Star and other speakers.)

A highlight of the evening was hearing from clients who have experienced help, hope and healing through Care Net’s ministries. Guests also heard from Liz Osborn, Care Net’s Executive Director of over 25 years, as she shared where Care Net is headed to save and change lives in 2012 and beyond. The banquet is meant to educate, inspire and engage and those attending were energized, challenged and uplifted as they united with many others in this community in their commitment to help women and men experiencing unplanned pregnancies.

Financially the evening’s objective was to raise twenty percent of the 2012 Care Net budget and the total to-date is just $1,000 short! Please help us surpass the goal by giving today.
