CareNet - You Are Not Alone

Capital Campaign

Our very generous and compassionate community has joined together in an unprecedented, proactive way to help young women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy.  With over 20 years of counseling experience, Care Net has listened to the heartfelt cries of thousands of women... as each one has shared her own story. Faced with a difficult decision, many women find themselves questioning, "does anyone really care enough to help?

Goal $2.2 million - $1,253,067.62 reached so far"Offering Hope to Mother, Child and Community" is the Capital Campaign begun by Care Net Pregnancy Center just over two years ago. Together, we have nearly reached the goal of raising $2.2 million. This successful campaign signifies the uniting of multi-denominational faith-based organizations along with community foundations, individuals and businesses.

The Gerry Family announced a matching grant of up to $500,000 at a donor reception at Monona Terrace on Feb. 24, 2005. Now is the time to make a donation and double the value.

The new 15,000 sq.ft. two-story facility, opened it's doors December 1, 2005. The combined use facility houses the 10 bedroom home for pregnant women, The Elizabeth House.  It has quickly become a haven for pregnant women who otherwise would have no safe, long term place to live.  Care Net's pregnancy help center, located in the lower level, provides all services free of charge, which includes a medical clinic and counseling services.

The Elizabeth House welcomes all women regardless of race, religion, or income.  Here residents will discover solutions and overcome obstacles, one-day-at-a-time.  Women will be able to live at the home from the first months of pregnancy and beyond the child's birth.  They must be willing to make a minimum commitment to live at the home six months, to begin the hard work of making positive changes in their lives.  Some may stay longer if needed.  Planning and support will be provided to help women and their children transition from life in the home to healthy, independent living.

For women who are interested in learning more about the option of adoption and/or making an adoption plan for their child, The Elizabeth House is ready to help.  The professional staff and live-in house parents provide the loving and supportive atmosphere needed to explore this option. Professional counseling services are provided through independent adoption agencies and their representatives.

Regardless of a woman's decision, whether planning to  parent or place her child, The Elizabeth House provides countless opportunities for each woman to develop and grow emotionally, relationally and spiritually.

We continue to look for partners to join with Care Net to help us reach the 2.2 million dollar goal.  Outright gifts of cash are vital.  Other gift options to consider include appreciated investments, life insurance, real estate, wills and trusts, room sponsorships, charitable trusts, and pledges over a 3-year period.

Together...we are making a life-long investment in the lives of women and their children, yet-to-be born and born.
